Trapper Gord Wilderness College Instructor Profiles
Ross Hinter
Wildlife Conservationist
Ross Hinter is a full time trapper, provincial trapping instructor, and Vice President of the Alberta Trappers Association. While he manages a Registered Fur Management Area (RFMA), or trapline during the winter months, he also works in the field of wildlife damage control during the spring, summer and fall months traveling throughout Alberta wherever there are animal and human conflicts.
Ross is very passionate about wildlife and its habitat, and his experience and respect of the wilderness and nature in all its forms comes through in his lectures, workshops and courses. He also teaches bush living skills, survival, and offers a learning experience in creating crafts and various tools.
Your life will be enriched and you may never be the same! While you’re learning, you will hear stories and experiences gained through years of Ross’s life, lived in the bush as he shares his love and respect of nature with you. His talks will have you laughing and crying, while enjoying a look through the wilderness window through his eyes.
He will encourage you to understand and take care of your environment
Trapper’s are Canada’s original conservationists. Once you hear Ross speak, you may change the way you think about the role of trapping.
In the classroom or in the Field, a learning experience like no other…
